Donulicious Donut

Salam all....ts time, i wanna share a recipe of my home-made donut wic we managed to do it during last yr end school hol. Since its a long break & my ppgs are indeed a big fan of big apple donut..well its jst a right time :) i often make tis donut for them wheneva they are badly craving for it & of course im nt badly lazy too..hehe.bt tis time its more interesting as i let them to try decorating the topping part..creatively ! they seemed enjoying it...knowing kids..they generally lurve the art works & they really gud at it...Ermm..proven that wt those attractive & colorful thingy..they're tempted to eat more that usual..:) yum yum yum P~~~~~

Donut

Ingredients :
500 g flour
11 g (1 sachet) instant yeast
25 g margarine (I used butter)
40 g sugar (I used 60 gm)
1 small egg
2 tablespoons milk powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
250 g water ~ lukewarm

Method :
1. Sift flour, milk powder, baking powder into a bowl. Add in sugar, salt & yeast. Mix well.
(my own tips >> yis mixed dgn air..abt half a cup..let it kembang for a while and then mix adunan tepung tadi)
2. Next, add in the egg & butter & mix well again. (my tips >> pukul butter & egg asing..dah kembang campur dlm no1)
3. Pour in the lukewarm water a little at a time and knead till the dough is just combined.
4. Continue kneading to form a soft, smooth and elastic dough. Leave the dough to rest for abt 15 minutes or till the dough double in size.
5. Roll the dough till about 1 - 1.5 cm thick and cut using a donut cutter.
6. Sprinkle some flour onto a tray and arrange the donuts.
7. Leave the donuts to prove till double the size.
8. Fry till golden brown and coat with either castor sugar or melted cooking chocolate and sprinkle with 100 thousands, chopped almonds, coloured vermicilli or chocolate rice.
